    Abstract : This dissertation investigates Ultra-Wideband (UWB) techniques for the next generation Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) towards the Internet-of-Things (IoT). In particular, an ultra-high frequency (UHF) wireless-powered UWB radio (UHF/UWB hybrid) with asymmetric links is explored from system architecture to circuit implementation. READ MORE

  4. 4. Mobile Satellite Broadcast and Multichannel Communications : analysis and design

    Author : Cristoff Martin; Björn Ottersten; Jack Winters; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Signalbehandling; communications; satellite broadcast; mobile; MIMO; asymptotic analysis; spatial multiplexing; Signalbehandling; Signal processing; Signalbehandling;

    Abstract : In this thesis, analytical analysis and design techniques for wireless communications with diversity are studied. The impact of impairments such as correlated fading is analyzed using statistical models. Countermeasures designed to overcome, or even exploit, such effects are proposed and examined. READ MORE

    Author : Nan Li; Lars Kildehöj Rasmussen; Daniel Lucani; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wireless communications; Hierarchical networks; 5G; Cognitive radio; Internet of Things; Cooperative communications; Spectrum sharing; Network coding; Optimization; Performance analysis.; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : To achieve more dynamic, efficient and intelligent use of the scarce wireless spectrum resource, the concept of cooperation has been formalized into several hierarchical network models in future mobile networks. Cooperative communications, such as relaying, can potentially increase communication efficiency and spectrum utilization due to the broadcast nature of wireless networks, and may lead to a better support for diverse communication modes with flexible spectrum sharing.
