  1. 1. Crystallization of NBA-ZSM-5 from kaolin

    Author : Wilson Aguilar-Mamani; Johanne Mouzon; Benoît Louis; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; zeolite; ZSM-5; n-butylamine; crystal; raw materials; Chemical Technology; Kemisk teknologi;

    Abstract : ZSM-5 is an aluminosilicate zeolite with high Si/Al ratio with suitable properties for catalysis, ion exchange, adsorption and membrane applications. The main goal of this thesis was to study the growth of ZSM-5 zeolite crystals from inexpensive natural sources of silica and alumina, as well as n-butylamine (NBA) as a low-cost structure directing agent. Abstract : Food packaging should ensure the safety and quality of food, minimize spoilage and provide an easy way of storing and handling it. Barrier coatings are generally used to meet the demands placed on fibre-based food packages, as these have the ability to regulate the amount of gases that can enter them. READ MORE

  3. 3. Characterisation of Ugandan raw-minerals for firebricks -before and after sintering

    Author : John Baptist Kirabira; KTH; []
    Keywords : firebricks; kaolin; ugandan minerals;

    Abstract : Development of products which can be produced from acountry's natural resources is very important as far as theindustrialization of a nation and saving foreign exchange isconcerned. Presently, industries in Uganda and the other statesin the Lake Victoria region import allrefractory-related-consumables, as the demand cannot be metlocally. READ MORE

  4. 4. Inhibition of light-induced colour reversion of wood-containing papers by means of coating

    Author : Helena Fjellström; Hans Höglund; Magnus Paulsson; Arthur Ragauskas; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High-yield pulp; CTMP; birch; light-induced; ageing; photo-stabilising; lignin; coating; pigment; kaolin; calcium carbonate; titanium dioxide; binder; FWA; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : The main purpose of this thesis was to find ways to maintain a low level of light‐induceddiscolouration at an increased addition of mechanical and chemimechanical pulps in coated highqualityfine paper and magazine paper grades. Current technology allows the production of highyieldpulps such as thermomechanical and chemimechanical pulps with properties suitable formanufacturing high‐quality paper or paperboard with a low basis weight. 5. 5. Characterisation of Fuels and Fly Ashes from Co-Combustion of Biofuels and Waste Fuels in a Fluidised Bed Boiler. A Phosphorus and Alkali Perspective

    Author : Anita Pettersson; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phosphorus recovery; co-combustion; fluidised bed combustion; olivine; Biofuels; zeolites; fertiliser; extraction; refuse derived fuels; kaolin; alkali; sulphur; ash; municipal sewage sludge;

    Abstract : In the efforts to create sustainable production of heat and power and to reduce the net CO2 emissions to the atmosphere, alternative fuels are today being utilised. These fuels are, for example, biofuels and waste derived fuels such as different residues from the agricultural sector and the pulp and paper industry, municipal sewage sludge and municipal sorted solid waste.
