1. Plant Calreticulins - isoforms, localization and function
Abstract : Calreticulin (CRT) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-located protein involved in quality control of newly synthesized proteins as well as in calcium homeostasis of the cell. Most of what is known about CRT arises from studies of mammalian systems. READ MORE

2. Diagnosis and management of periprosthetic joint infections
Abstract : Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is a severe complication to hip and knee arthroplasty surgery. In the light of its devastating implications for the affected patient, its great economic impact on the health care system and the increasing antimicrobial resistance, it is important to develop efficient diagnostic methods, identify optimal treatment pathways and improve the care for patients. 3. Children in group interventions after exposure to violence toward a caregiver : Experiences, needs, and outcomes
Abstract : This thesis consists of three empirical studies, all part of the same research project, with a general aim to explore interventions for children exposed to intimate partner violence (IPV). Because witnessing violence toward a caregiver is associated with negative impact on children’s health and development, effective interventions for children exposed to IPV are necessary. READ MORE

4. Tissue Factor in Complex : Studies of interactions between blood coagulation proteins
Abstract : Many biological processes rely on specific protein-protein interactions, for example immune responses, cell signaling, transcription, and blood coagulation. Blood coagulation is initiated when a vessel wall is damaged, exposing tissue factor (TF) to the circulating factor VII/factor VIIa (FVII/FVIIa) which results in the formation of the TF:FVIIa complex and thereby the initiation of blood coagulation. 5. Evolutionary Processes and Spatial Genetic Variation in Euphrasia stricta on the Baltic Island of Gotland
Abstract : The identification of processes governing genetic structure at different spatial scales remains a major challenge in evolutionary biology and is of considerable applied interest in conservation biology. In Euphrasia stricta five varieties have been identified (brevipila, gotlandica, stricta, suecica and tenuis) based on differences in habitat, phenology and morphology. READ MORE
