1. Computer Aided Angioplasty : Patient-specific arterial modeling and smooth 3D contact analysis of the stent-balloon-artery interaction
Abstract : Paper A: In this paper, the development and implementation of a contact algorithm based on C2-continuous surface representations is discussed. In 3D contact simulations involving models with arbitrarily curved surfaces (as in the case of vessel walls), the discretization of the contact surfaces by means of facet-based techniques could lead to numerical instabilities and finally loss of quadratic convergence. 2. On the Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian Finite Element Method
Abstract : This thesis has been devoted to the study and development of algorithms for Finite Element (FE) simulations of mechanical processes involving large deformations. Aspects of three different formulations have been considered:(i) The single material Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) formulation is a method where the FE mesh is allowed to move independently to the material flow. 3. Multiresolution Continuum Theory and Dislocation Density Based Constitutive Relations
Abstract : In classical description, the mechanical state of a material point depends on the variables defined at this point solely. It can integrate and catch some aspects of the material’s microstructure by conventional homogenization method. READ MORE

4. Structural Composite Lithium-Ion Battery : Effect of Intercalation induced volumetric changes on micro-damage
Abstract : The quest for lighter materials and structures to reduce climate impacts in the automotive industry has paved the way for multifunctional solutions. Mass saving on a system level can be achieved by materials or structures having more than one primary function, thus reducing the number of components used. READ MORE
