  1. 1. Nucleotide Binding to Trimeric dUTPase: Studies on Recombinant Enzymes using Kinetic and Spectroscopic Methods

    Author : Johan Nord; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; C-terminus; dUTPase; EIAV; Escherichia coli; flexibility; Homo sapiens; kinetics; NMR; nucleotide metabolism; rate constants of lig-and binding; production of recombinant enzyme; dUTP; specificity; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi;

    Abstract : Recombinant dUTPase from the bacterium Escherichia coli, the retrovirus equine infectious anemia virus (EIAV) and Homo sapiens have been made available for physico-chemical characterisation. The protocols developed have also proven to be suitable for production of enzymes modified by isotope labelling or other methods. READ MORE

  2. 2. Biohybrid Polymer Electrodes for Renewable Energy Storage

    Author : Fátima Nadia Ajjan Godoy; Olle Inganäs; Tomasz Rebis; Martin Sjödin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Daily and seasonally fluctuating energy supply and demand requires adequate energy storage solutions. In recent years electrochemical supercapacitors have attracted considerable attention due to their ability to both store and deliver electrical energy efficiently. READ MORE

  3. 3. Security of Electricity Supply in Power Systems : Establishing a Global Framework for Assessing Power System Health and Analyzing Outage Statistics in Sweden

    Author : Sanja Duvnjak Zarkovic; Patrik Hilber; Ebrahim Shayesteh; Christina Papadimitriou; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; security of electricity supply; power system health; outage statistics; data analysis; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : The primary objective of this thesis is to enhance the security of electricity supply by providing a holistic perspective and introducing a comprehensive framework for assessing power system health. This novel approach aims for a thorough evaluation of the system’s overall performance and well-being, using the physical dimensions of the security of supply as the foundation for a power system health index. 4. 4. Timing Diagnostics and Coherent Harmonics from a test-FEL

    Author : Nino Cutic; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Free electron laser; undulator radiation; coherent harmonic generation; circular polariyation; vacuum ultra-violet; seed pulse timing; bunch length; electro-optical spectral decoding;

    Abstract : The test free-electron laser (test-FEL) at MAX-lab in Lund demonstrated for the first time circularly polarized coherent femtosecond pulses at 66 nm wavelength. A 375 MeV electron bunch was seeded by a femtosecond laser at 263 nm and coherent harmonics were extracted in an APPLE-II type elliptical undulator. READ MORE

  5. 5. On Electrical Machine Topologies for Electric Vehicle Applications

    Author : Konstantina Bitsi; Stefan Östlund; Sjoerd Bosga; Anouar Belahcen; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The deployment of electric vehicles is considered a viable solution towardsreducing the global greenhouse-gas emissions and fossil-fuel consumption. Inorder to produce highly efficient and economically feasible electrical drivesystems, the selection of suitable electric motor designs is a key step. READ MORE
