  2. 2. Hadronic Interactions at High and Low Energies

    Author : Marius Utheim; Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; QCD; Phenomenology; Hadronic rescattering; Heavy ions; Exotic hadrons; Cosmic rays;

    Abstract : In the past, development of the PYTHIA event generator has mainly concentrated on the physics of proton–proton collisions at high energies, as this is the most important case to modern high energy physics experiments. However, there are situations where more generic beam configurations are relevant. READ MORE

  3. 3. Compton Scattering from the Deuteron at Low Energies

    Author : Magnus Lundin; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Compton scattering; photonuclear reactions; deuteron; differential cross sections; 50-70 MeV; polarizability; tagged photons; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Lundin;

    Abstract : A series of three Compton scattering experiments on deuterium have been performed at the high-resolution tagged-photon facility MAX-lab located in Lund, Sweden. The 50 < Eg < 70 MeV tagged photons were scattered from a liquid deuterium target and detected simultaneously in three (10"x10") NaI detectors. READ MORE

  4. 4. Magnetic frustration and low-dimensional magnetism : in transition metal fluorophosphates and square-lattice intermetallic compounds

    Author : Stefanie Siebeneichler; Anja-Verena Mudring; Ulrich Häussermann; Sven Lidin; Kenneth R. Poeppelmeier; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; magnetic frustration; low-dimensional magnetism; ionothermal synthesis; powder neutron diffraction; fluorophosphates; intermetallics; Physical Chemistry; fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : Solids can display a variety of vastly different magnetic properties. Besides the generally well known ferromagnets, antiferromagnets with their antiparallel arrangements of magnetic moments can exhibit a wide range of complex magnetic behavior such as magnetic frustration or low-dimensional antiferromagnetism. 5. 5. Low-temperature growth of alumina

    Author : Jon M. Andersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Physical phenomena related to the growth of alumina, A12O3, are investigated by experiments and ab initio calculations. Alumina is a well studied material with applications in a variety of areas, due to its many beneficial properties. READ MORE
