  1. 1. Mineralogical influence on leaching behaviour of steelmaking slags : a laboratory investigation

    Author : Fredrik Engström; Pekka Taskinen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Abstract : The Swedish steelmaking industry produces large amounts of by-products. In 2008, the total amount of slag produced reached approximately 1,300,000 metric tons, of which 20% was deposited. READ MORE

  2. 2. Tailored process gases for laser powder bed fusion

    Author : Camille Nicole Géraldine Pauzon; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Helium; Laser powder bed fusion; AM process productivity; Spatter particles; Residual oxygen; 316L stainless steel; Argon; Nitrogen; Additive manufacturing; Process atmosphere; Process stability; Residual stresses.; Ti-6Al-4V; Alloy 718;

    Abstract : Metal laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) allows for production of complex components using the energy from a laser to locally melt micron-sized powder following a layer-wise approach. Considerable scientific efforts are focused on addressing the influence of the process parameters on the melting stability and the control of material properties, while developing necessary monitoring and characterization tools. 3. 3. Process intensification in mechanical pulping : Reduced process complexity and improved energy efficiency

    Author : Christer Sandberg; Per Engstrand; Jan-Erik Berg; Göran Bengtsson; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This work shows that, for newsprint quality grades, the production processes for mechanical pulp can be simplified, and the specific electrical energy demand can be reduced with around 600 kWh/ton (30%). The purpose of the work is to demonstrate how the production cost for mechanical pulps can be decreased through increased energy efficiency and reduced number of unit operations. READ MORE
