  1. 21. Regulation of chromatin transitions in the 3D architecture of the nucleus

    Author : Honglei Zhao; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The thesis explores the dynamic features and functions of chromatin crosstalk in the 3D nucleus space, with a focus on the regulation of chromatin transitions. In Paper I we employed the circular chromosome conformation capture assay (4C) and Chromatin in situ Proximity (ChrISP) technique to uncover an inter-chromosomal chromatin fiber interactome comprising both transcriptionally active circadian genes and repressed lamina-associated domains (LADs). 2. 22. Healing of tympanic membrane perforations : an experimental study

    Author : Anisur Rahman; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Embryonic stem cells; Healing; Immunosuppressive; Laser; Mesenchymal stem cells; Moiré interferometry; Myringotomy; Perforation; Tympanic membrane;

    Abstract : Most acute tympanic membrane perforations heal spontaneously without any residual complication, whereas a fraction transforms into a chronic perforation. The current treatment of a chronic perforation is surgical repair, which is a costly, time consuming and uncomfortable procedure particularly for the pediatric patients. READ MORE

  3. 23. Multifaceted roles of the transmembrane nuclear envelope protein, Samp1

    Author : Mohammed Hakim Jaffer Ali; Einar Hallberg; Giovanna Lattanzi; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear envelope; transmembrane protein interaction studies; cell differentiation; stem cells; myopathies; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Abstract : The eukaryotic nuclear envelope (NE), separates the nucleoplasm from cytoplasm and is made up of two concentric lipid membranes, the outer and the inner nuclear membranes (ONM and INM), the nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) and an underlying filamentous nuclear lamina. The INM contains hundreds of unique transmembrane proteins of which only a handful have been characterized. READ MORE

  4. 24. Macrophages in Crohn's Disease: lnnate immune cellular and molecular mechanisms driving intestinal inflammation and fibrosis

    Author : Frida Gorreja; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; macrophages; inflammatory macrophages; tissue-resident macrophages; efferocytosis; innate immunity; myeloid cells; fibroblasts; fibrosis; inflammasomes; Crohn´s disease; inflammatory bowel diseases; digestive diseases; mucosa immunology; intestinal immunity; intestinal inflammation; serum systemic inflammation; microbiota; metabolites;

    Abstract : Macrophages and their interactions with the lamina propria and luminal microenvi-ronment are crucial in the pathogenesis of Crohn´s disease (CD), a chronic inflamma-tory disease with a strong inflammatory innate immune involvement. Therefore, in-terpreting macrophage activity in the intestinal microenvironment may identify treatment targets beneficial for at least a subgroup of patients. READ MORE

  5. 25. Microangiopathies of the human brain b immunohistochemical studies on extracellular matrix components in arterial vessels and endothelin
