  1. 1. Temporomandibular joint disk displacement and subsequent adverse mandibular growth : a radiographic, histologic and biomolecular experimental study

    Author : Fredrik Bryndahl; Annika Isberg; Lars Eriksson; Lars G Hollender; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; adolescence; adverse growth; condylar cartilage; subchondral bone; TMJ; Radiology; Radiologi;

    Abstract : The mandibular condyles represent important growth sites within the facial skeleton. Condylar growth is not a pacemaker of mandibular development, but it provides regional adaptive growth that is of considerable clinical significance, as the condyle’s upward and backward growth movement regulates the anteriorly and inferiorly directed displacement of the mandible as a whole. 2. 2. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers and Tetrabromobisphenol A : Chemical synthesis, X-ray crystallography and Photochemical degradation

    Author : Johan Eriksson; Åke Bergman; Lars Eriksson; Mats Tysklind; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Abstract : In the 1960s’ several manmade chemicals were detected in the environment, far from their sources. The most well known, and most likely those with the largest impact on the society, were DDT and its related compounds, and PCBs. These anthropogenic compounds were characterised as persistent organic pollutants (POPs). READ MORE

  3. 3. Modeling for control of centrifugal compressors

    Author : Oskar Leufvén; Lars Eriksson; Lars Nielsen; José Galindo; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Downsizing and turbocharging of engines provide a way to meet increasing demands for efficiency and performance in the automotive industry. An engine design is a result of compromises, e.g. the selection of charging system, and the trend is to reduce these compromises by increasing system complexity. READ MORE

  4. 4. Strengthening lifestyle interventions in primary health care : the challenge of change and implementation of guidelines in clinical practice

    Author : Therese Kardakis; Helene Johansson; Lars Weinehall; Lars Jerden; Monica Nyström; Charli Eriksson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Health orientation; health promotion; prevention; primary health care; readiness for change; lifestyles; clinical practice guidelines; implementation; guideline development; tobacco use; alcohol use; unhealthy eating habits; physical activity; organizational support; folkhälsa; Public health;

    Abstract : Background: Lifestyle habits like tobacco use, hazardous use of alcohol, unhealthy eating habits and insufficient physical activity are risk factors for developing non-communicable diseases, which are the leading, global causes of death. Furthermore, ill health and chronic diseases are costly and put an increased burden on societies and health systems. READ MORE

  5. 5. Control of EGR and VGT for emission control and pumping work minimization in diesel engines

    Author : Johan Wahlström; Lars Nielsen; Lars Eriksson; Tore Hägglund; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mean value modeling; Oxygen fuel ratio; EGR-fraction; System analysis; Sign reversal; PID-control; European Transient Cycle; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Legislators steadily increase the demands on lowered emissions from heavy duty vehicles. To meet these demands it is necessary to integrate technologies like Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and Variable Geometry Turbochargers (VGT) together with advanced control systems. READ MORE
