  1. 16. Laser Diagnostic Techniques with Ultra-High Repetition Rate for Studies in Combustion Environments

    Author : Jimmy Olofsson; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; High-Speed; High Repetition Rate; LIF; PLIF; 3D Visualisation; Engine; Teknik; Technological sciences; Fysik; Physics; Combustion; Laserteknik; Laser technology; Laser-Induced Fluorescence; Laser Diagnostics;

    Abstract : When conducting laser based diagnostics in combustion environments it is often desirable to obtain temporally resolved information. This can be due to several factors such as combustion taking place in a turbulent flow field, flame propagation from a spark plug in an initially quiescent combustible mixture, or rapid, multi-point fuel consumption in a homogeneous charge as a result of compression ignition in an engine cycle. 2. 17. Thermometry Using Laser-Induced Emission from Thermographic Phosphors: Development and Applications in Combustion

    Author : Alaa Omrane; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; framdrivningssystem; Motorer; Motors and propulsion systems; Laser technology; Laserteknik; Teknik; Technological sciences; Physics; Pyrolysis; Flame spread; Droplet; Engine; Imaging; Temperature; Thermographic phosphors; Combustion; Fysik; Laser diagnostics;

    Abstract : Temperature is a fundamental thermodynamic parameter used to describe physical, chemical and biological processes. Much effort is made to measure temperature accurately in a wide variety of applications, making temperature one of the most extensively measured parameters. READ MORE

  3. 18. Combustion Engine Characterization and Development by Means of Laser Diagnostics

    Author : Mattias Richter; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; framdrivningssystem; Laser technology; Laserteknik; plasma; fluiddynamik; Gaser; plasmas; Gases; fluid dynamics; Motorer; laser engine lif plif; Motors and propulsion systems; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Richter;

    Abstract : Planar laser induced fluorescence (LIF) has been utilized for two-dimensional imaging in combustion environments. By using tracer LIF the fuel distribution prior to ignition has been monitored in a GDI-engine. READ MORE

  4. 19. Quantum computing with naturally trapped sub-nanometre-spaced ions

    Author : Lars Rippe; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laserteknik; Laser technology; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Atomic and molecular physics; akustik; optik; Elektromagnetism; optics; acoustics; Electromagnetism; Fysik; Physics; entanglement; spectroscopy; rare-earth-metal-ion-doped crystals spectral hole-burning; inversion; excitation; laser stabilization; quantum computation; quantum gate;

    Abstract : The main aim of this work, was to lay the foundations for the experimental realisation of a quantum mechanical controlled NOT gate in rare-earth-metal-ion-doped crystals. Small amounts of rare-earth elements, added during the growth of some inorganic crystals, will become substituted into the crystal lattice as trivalent ions. READ MORE

  5. 20. Optimisation and Application of Intense High-Order Harmonic Pulses

    Author : Lena Roos; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Coherent radiation; Optimisation; Multiphoton ionisation; Phase matching; Physics; Fysik; Atomic and molecular physics; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Laserteknik; Laser technology; High-power lasers; Short pulses; High-order harmonic generation; Short wavelength; Fysicumarkivet A:2001:Roos;

    Abstract : The high-order harmonics that are created in the interaction between an intense laser pulse (around 1014 W/cm2) and a gas medium are studied. The high-order harmonic radiation is a relatively new source of coherent radiation in the short wavelength range. READ MORE
