  1. 1. Striatal pathways in dyskinesia and dystonia

    Author : Laura Andreoli; Basala gangliernas patofysiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Striatum; Dystonia; L-DOPA-induced dyskinesia; DREADD; Mouse model; Dopamine; dopamine receptor;

    Abstract : Purposeful and well-coordinated movements depend on the control exerted by dopamine (DA) on the basal ganglia (BG) network. Accordingly, dysfunctions or lesions of the dopaminergic system in the BG can result in an overall poverty and slowness of movement, cardinal features of Parkinson´s disease (PD), or in dyskinesias, exaggerated and involuntary movements resulting from L-DOPA pharmacotherapy. 2. 2. Renewable gas in a Swedish context

    Author : Laura Malek; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Keywords : synthetic natural gas; biomass; gasification; gas grid; techno-economic; tar; ammonia;

    Abstract : In order to increase the use of sustainable energy in Sweden, it is necessary to substitute fossil energy carriers with renewable counterparts. Synthetic natural gas (SNG) produced from renewable resources via biomass gasification and methanation could replace a proportion of the natural gas used in Sweden. READ MORE

  3. 3. Sustainable management of dredged sediments : potential recovery of valuable compounds

    Author : Laura Ferrans; William Hogland; Monica Odlare; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Dredged sediments; nutrients; metals; speciation; recovery; characterisation; beneficial use; life cycle assessment; extraction; plant-growing substrate; circular economy; Miljövetenskap; Environmental Science;

    Abstract : Dredging of sediments occurs worldwide to increase water depth in harbours, bays, lakes and rivers, as well as to recover aquatic ecosystems. Landfilling and open-ocean discharge are traditional disposal routes for dredged material. However, the methods are restricted by environmental and legal concerns. READ MORE

  4. 4. The Baltic Sea from the present to future : microbial carbon & nutrient cycling in a changing climate

    Abstract : Climate Change is caused by the accelerated increase of anthropogenic greenhousegas emissions to the atmosphere and affects all ecosystems on our planet. A resultof higher CO2 uptake by the oceans as well as an increase of heat trapped in theatmosphere leads to, for example acidification, stratification, sea-level rise, oxygenloss, and temperature increase of the earth’s waterbodies. 5. 5. Collision Threshold Pressure : A novel measure of voice function Effects of vocal warm-up, vocal loading and resonance tube phonation in water

    Author : Laura Enflo; Anita McAllister; Johan Sundberg; Marc de Bodt; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The phonation threshold pressure (PTP), i.e., the smallest amount of subglottal pressure needed to initiate and sustain vocal fold oscillation, is frequently difficult to measure due to the difficulty for some subjects to produce extremely soft phonation. In addition, PTP values are often quite scattered. READ MORE
