1. Lead in blood. ICP-MS studies of lead in plasma, blood and erythrocyte proteins
Abstract : An inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) method for the determination of lead in blood plasma has been developed. The detection limit was below 0.1 microgram/liter, and the precision 5%. There was no significant difference between levels in plasma and serum. READ MORE

2. Removal of metals from contaminated waters : Evaluating the use of synthetic adsorbents and green algae biomass
Abstract : Metal contamination of water bodies has attracted global attention owing to its environmental toxicity, abundance and persistence. Metals such as arsenic, cadmium and mercury are of greater concern since they are toxic even at low concentrations. READ MORE

3. Batch Sorption Studies of Aqueous Cadmium and Lead from Contaminated Water onto Selected Biosorbents
Abstract : Groundwater, wastewater, surface runoff and surface water samples from Lake Victoria basin, Uganda was assessed for trace metals contamination. Untreated, base-treated and peroxide-treated biosorbents from Albizia coriaria, Coffea canephora, Cyperus papyrus, Erythrina abyssinica and Musa spp were investigated for removal of selected trace metals from contaminated water in batch studies. 4. Lead-free Metal Halide based Solar Cells
Abstract : Lead-halide perovskites have recently appeared as very promising materials for solar cells. However, their stability and toxicity may be limiting factors for their application. Therefore, to find new low toxic and high stability light harvesters may be necessary for overcoming the challenges of perovskite solar cells. READ MORE

5. Pathogenic effects of alpha-synuclein: modifications and toxicity
Abstract : Accumulation of intraneuronal inclusions, containing mainly a protein called alpha-synuclein (asyn), is thought to play a critical role in neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson's disease (PD). In these so called Lewy bodies, the majority of asyn is phosphorylated at serine 129 (pS129) suggesting that post-translational modifications may play a critical role in the process of aggregate formation.
