2. The muscle cytoskeleton of mice and men : Structural remodelling in desmin myopathies
Abstract : The muscle fibre cytoskeleton of skeletal and heart muscle cells is composed mainly of intermediate filaments (IFs), that surround the myofibrils and connect the peripheral myofibrils with the sarcolemma and the nuclear membrane. Desmin is the first muscle specific IF protein to be produced in developing muscles and is the main IF protein in mature muscles. READ MORE

4. Cellular design of heparan sulfate : The NDST enzymes and their regulation
Abstract : Heparan sulfate proteoglycans are proteins with long, unbranched heparan sulfate (HS) polysaccharide chains attached to them. They are found on cell surfaces and in basement membranes where they exert their action by interacting with a wide range of enzymes and signaling molecules and are thereby involved in a range of various processes both during embryonic development and in adult physiology.
