6. Study of molecular mechanism(s) underlying neurodegeneration in SCA7 disease : Role of NOX enzymes and oxidative stress
Abstract : Spinocerebellar ataxia type 7 (SCA7) is an autosomal dominant neurodegenerative disorder caused by a CAG trinucleotide expansion in the SCA7/ATXN7 gene resulting in progressive ataxia and retinal dystrophy. SCA7 belongs to a group of neurodegenerative disorders called polyglutamine (polyQ) diseases, that share the common feature of glutamine tract expansions within otherwise unrelated proteins. 7. PepFect14, a Versatile Cell-Penetrating Peptide
Abstract : Cell-penetrating peptides have been discovered almost three decades ago and there are, nowadays, thousands of available sequences. They offer multiple applications in the field of drug delivery as they are able to carry therapeutic macromolecules across the plasma membrane. READ MORE

8. Characterization of Diagnostic Tools and Potential Treatments for Alzheimer’s Disease : PET ligands and BACE1 inhibitors
Abstract : Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a very complex disorder and the most common form of dementia. The two pathological hallmarks of AD are extracellular amyloid-β (Aβ) plaques in cerebral cortex, and intraneuronal neurofibrillary tangles. READ MORE

9. The amyloid-β precursor protein (APP)-binding protein Fe65 and APP processing
Abstract : Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by abnormal deposition of neurotoxic amyloid-β (Aβ) peptide. Aβ is generated by sequential cleavage of the amyloid-β precursor protein (APP) by β- and then γ-secretase. READ MORE

10. Phosphorylation regulates APP and Fe65, two key players in Alzheimer’s disease
Abstract : Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a slow progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized by the accumulation of toxic amyloid beta (Aβ) peptide within the brain. APP plays an important role in AD, as the Aβ is formed when APP is sequentially cleaved by β- and γ-secretase. This is known as amyloidogenic processing of APP. READ MORE
