21. Generalised stacking fault energy and plastic deformation of austenitic stainless steels
Abstract : Austenitic stainless steels are primarily known for their exceptional corrosion resistance. They have the face centred cubic (FCC) structure which is stabilised by adding nickel to the Fe-Cr alloy. The Fe-Cr-Ni system can be further extended by adding other elements such as Mn, Mo, N, C, etc. in order to improve the properties. READ MORE

22. Stacking fault energy and deformation behaviour of austenitic stainless steels: a joint theoretical-experimental study
READ MORE

23. First-principles study of defects instructural materials
Abstract : In this thesis, first we focus on the Helium (He) and He bubbles behavior in three kinds of the most promising candidate structural materials for future fusion reactor. These materials are vanadium, silicon carbide (SiC) composites, and reduced activation ferritic-martensitic (RAFM) steels. READ MORE

24. First-principles investigations of planar defects
Abstract : Two types of planar defects, phase interface and stacking fault, are addressed in this thesis. The investigation is mainly carried out for stainless steels which are fundamental materials in modern society. For the phase interface, we investigate the metallic bcc/bcc and fcc/bcc phase interfaces. READ MORE

25. Ab initio Investigation of Al-doped CrMnFeCoNi High-Entropy Alloys
Abstract : High-entropy alloys (HEAs) represent a special group of solid solutions containing five or more principal elements. The new design strategy has attracted extensive attention from the materials science community. The design and development of HEAs with desired properties have become an important subject in materials science and technology. READ MORE
