  1. 1. Acoustic characterization of orifices and perforated liners with flow and high-level acoustic excitation

    Author : Lin Zhou; Hans Bodén; Wim De Roeck; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bias Flow; Grazing Flow; Nonlinear Acoustics; Acoustic Impedance; Impedance Eduction; Single Mode Straightforward Method; Uncertainty Analysis; LEE; LNSE; Järnvägsgruppen - Ljud och vibrationer; Järnvägsgruppen - Ljud och vibrationer;

    Abstract : This thesis is motivated by the need for noise control in aircraft engine with orifices and perforated liner. The presence of high-level acoustic excitation, different flow situations either bias flow, grazing flow or any combination in the aircraft engine, makes the acoustic behavior complex due to the interaction between sound and flow over the lined wall. 2. 2. Influence of grinding operations on surface integrity and chloride induced stress corrosion cracking of stainless steels

    Author : Nian Zhou; Rachel Pettersson; Ru Lin Peng; Clara Anghel; Per-Lennart Osk Larsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kemi; Chemistry; Steel Forming and Surface Engineering;

    Abstract : Stainless steels were developed in the early 20th century and are used where both the mechanical properties of steels and corrosion resistance are required. There is continuous research to allow stainless steel components to be produced in a more economical way and be used in more harsh environments. READ MORE

  3. 3. Surface integrity and corrosion behavior of stainless steels after grinding operations

    Author : Nian Zhou; Rachell Pettersson; Ru Lin Peng; Stuart Lyon; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; stainless steel; stress corrosion cracking; surface integrity; grinding; residual stress; Steel Forming and Surface Engineering; Stålformning och ytteknik;

    Abstract : Stainless steels are widely used in applications where both the mechanical properties of steels and high corrosion resistance are required. There is continuous research to enable stainless steel components to be produced in a more economical way and be used in more harsh environments. READ MORE
