  1. 11. Flexible Embedded Control Systems : Design and Implementation

    Author : Johan Eker; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Automation; Feedback scheduling; Quality of service; Linear quadratic control; Toolbox; Simulation; Rapid prototyping; Programming language; Scheduling; Embedded systems; Real-time system; robotics; control engineering; Automatiska system; robotteknik; reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Embedded control system design is a complex and error prone task, and there is a great need for better development tools. Today most real-time control systems are static systems, designed in an ad-hoc fashion. A more interactive way of working would give shorter development times, reduced costs for testing, and safer, more robust systems. READ MORE

  2. 12. Active Vibration Control of Multibody Systems : Application to Automotive Design

    Author : Claes Olsson; Alexander Medvedev; Stephen Elliott; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Active Vibration Control; Vibration Isolation; Feedback Control; Adaptive Filtering; Saturation; Limit Cycles; Multi Body Systems; Modelling; Simulation; Non-linearity; Gain Scheduling; Structure Flexibility; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Active vibration control to reduce vibrations and structure borne noise is considered using a powerful multi-disciplinary virtual design environment which enables control system design to be considered as an integral part of the overall vehicle design. The main application studied is active automotive engine vibration isolation where, first, the potential of large frequency band multi-input multi-output H2 feedback control is considered. READ MORE

  3. 13. Development and evaluation of methods for control and modelling of multiple-input multiple-output systems

    Author : Fredrik Bengtsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Input-output scaling; Modeling; Fiber length; Tensile Index; Hold-input; Decentralized control; Gramian based measures; Delays; LQG control; TMP; Uncertain data sets; Unreliable communication links; MIMO systems; Control configuration selection; Linear regression; Freeness; Shives; CTMP;

    Abstract : In control, a common type of system is the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, where the same input may affect multiple outputs, or conversely, the same output is affected by multiple inputs. In this thesis two methods for controlling MIMO systems are examined, namely linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control and decentralized control, and some of the difficulties associated with them. 4. 14. Modelling and Control Methods with Applications to Mechanical Waves

    Author : Hans Norlander; Bengt Carlsson; Torsten Söderström; Jonas Sjöberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; automatic control; pole placement; linearization; vibration control; distributed parameter systems; wave propagation; Automatic Control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Models, modelling and control design play important parts in automatic control. The contributions in this thesis concern topics in all three of these concepts.The poles are of fundamental importance when analyzing the behaviour of a system, and pole placement is an intuitive and natural approach for control design.
