11. Improving Performance in Heterogeneous Networks: A Transport Layer Centered Approach
Abstract : The evolution of computer communications and the Internet has led to the emergence of a large number of communication technologies with widely different capabilities and characteristics. While this multitude of technologies provides a wide array of possibilities it also creates a complex and heterogeneous environment for higher-layer communication protocols. READ MORE

12. Link and effect model for performance improvement of railway infrastructure
Abstract : Railway traffic has increased over the last decade and it is believed to increase further with transportation shifting from road to rail, due to rising energy costs and the demand to reduce emissions. To manage railway infrastructure assets effectively against agreed-upon and set objectives, performance must be measured and monitored. READ MORE

13. Development of the read-out link and control board for the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter Upgrade
Abstract : The Phase-II upgrade plan for the ATLAS Hadronic Tile Calorimeter facing the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) era includes approximately 1000 radiation tolerant read-out link and control boards (Daughterboards) that will provide full-granularity digital data to a fully-digital trigger system off-detector through multi-Gbps optic fibres. Different Daughterboard (DB) revisions have been developed, each successively aiming to meet the demanding HL-LHC requirements. READ MORE

14. Energy Saving vs. Performance: Trade-offs in Optical Networks
Abstract : The energy consumption of communication networks is continuously growing. Many energy saving approaches have been proposed at the device, system, and network level. The most promising way to address this problem is to utilize photonic technologies as much as possible thanks to their low energy consumption per bit performance. READ MORE

15. Secure GNSS-based Positioning and Timing : Distance-Decreasing attacks, fault detection and exclusion, and attack detection with the help of opportunistic signals
Abstract : With trillions of devices connected in large scale systems in a wired or wireless manner, positioning and synchronization become vital. Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is the first choice to provide global coverage for positioning and synchronization services. READ MORE
