1. Disentangling Trade Flows : Firms, Geography and Technology
Abstract : This thesis consists of three individual studies and a common introduction. Albeit distinct and self-contained, all studies are devoted to how and why trade flows adjust according to characteristics of markets and attributes of links between markets. READ MORE

2. On the use of traffic flows for improved transportation systems : Mathematical modeling and applications
Abstract : This thesis concerns the mathematical modeling of transportation systems for improved decision support and analysis of transportation-related problems. The main purpose of this thesis is to develop and evaluate models and methods that exploit link flows. READ MORE

3. Symplectic methods for isospectral flows and 2D ideal hydrodynamics
Abstract : The numerical solution of non-canonical Hamiltonian systems is an active and still growing field of research. At the present time, the biggest challenges concern the realization of structure preserving algorithms for differential equations on infinite dimensional manifolds. READ MORE

4. Beyond IT and Productivity : Effects of Digitized Information Flows in Health Care
5. Simulations of the Dynamics of Fibre Suspension Flows
Abstract : A new model for simulating non-Brownian flexible fibres suspended in a Newtonian fluid has been developed. Special attention has been given to include realistic flow conditions found in the industrial papermaking process in the key features of the model; it is the intention of the author to employ the model in simulations of the forming section of the paper machine in future studies.
