  1. 1. Load Bearing Capacity and Behaviour of Composite Slabs with Profiled Steel Sheet

    Author : Li An; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; load bearing capacity; composite slabs; shear resistance; concrete;

    Abstract : In many cases the capacity of composite slabs with profiled steel sheeting depends on the shear resistance at the sheet-concrete interface. This shear resistance is essential to the interaction between the steel sheeting and the concrete. Besides this, other factors also affect the behaviour of composite slabs. READ MORE

  2. 2. Load bearing capacity of steel fibre reinforced shotcrete linings

  3. 3. Soil-Steel Composite Bridges : Research advances and application

    Author : Amer Wadi; Raid Karoumi; Lars Pettersson; Ian D. Moore; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flexible culvert; Soil‒steel composite bridge; Sloping terrain; Swedish design method; Finite element model; Ultimate capacity; Avalanche load; Failure load; Low soil cover; Failure mechanism; Long-span; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Abstract : Soil-steel composite bridges are considered competitive structures being an economical alternative to similar span concrete bridges. This frequently stimulates practitioners to push their design limits and expand the different areas of application including their performance in sloping terrain. READ MORE

  4. 4. Synergies in Biolubrication

    Author : Akanksha Raj; Andra Dedinaite; Imre Varga; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biolubrication; Synergies; Adsorption; Surface Force; Friction; Load Bearing Capacity; Self Healing; Phospholipids; DPPC; Hyaluronan; COMP; Lubricin; QCM-D; AFM; XRR.; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : The objective of this thesis was to advance understanding in the field of biolubrication, finding inspiration from the human synovial joints. This was addressed by investigating the association of key biolubricants and the resulting lubrication performance. READ MORE

    Abstract : The main objective of this thesis work was to gain understanding of the principles of biolubrication, focusing on synergistic effects between biolubricants. To this end surface force and friction measurements were carried out by means of Atomic Force Microscopy, using hydrophilic and hydrophobic model surfaces in salt solutions of high ionic strength (≈ 150 mM) in presence of different biolubricants.
