11. Characteristic Properties and Applications of Fine Particles in Biomass Gasification
Abstract : The gasification of biomass is a promising route to increase the share of renewable sources in the energy mix. Besides having an overall higher thermal efficiency than combustion, it also offers the possibility of producing gaseous and liquid biofuels that can be used in the transport sector. READ MORE

12. Mammalian brain acetylcholinesterase : a study of its solubilization, purification, molecular state and interactions with cholinergic ligands including an endogenous modulator
Abstract : Membrane bound AChE from calf brain caudate nucleus was solubilized by use of ion-free media in presence of 10~ M EDTA and 10“5M tetracaine. The irreversible release of AChE was more effectively inhibited by divalent ions compared to monovalent ions added to the medium. READ MORE

13. Permeability modelling and particle deposition mechanisms related to advanced composites manufacturing
Abstract : Advanced composite materials reinforced by Non-Crimp Fabrics (NCFs) are becoming increasingly popular for high performance, light weight, complex structures, due to their high mechanical properties and relatively cheap production costs. These materials, not only improve the structural properties, but also induce great possibilities for reduced fuel consumptions for aircrafts and automotives, due to their high strength to weight ratio. 14. Farm-based technologies for management of risks from irrigation with wastewater-polluted sources in Cochabamba, Bolivia
Abstract : Wastewater irrigation is a global practice that allows reusing water and nutrients in agriculture, but also poses risks of introducing pathogens/pollutants into agricultural systems and food. In order to manage these risks, on-farm measures can be implemented as barriers along the pathway that pathogens/pollutants must follow to reach the population/place at risk, in cases where treatment plants are not a viable option. 15. Surface characterization of 2D transition metal carbides (MXenes)
Abstract : Research on two-dimensional (2D) materials is a rapidly growing field owing to the wide range of new interesting properties found in 2D structures that are vastly different from their three-dimensional (3D) analogues. In addition, 2D materials embodies a significant surface area that facilitates a high degree of surface reactions per unit volume or mass, that is imperative in many applications such as catalysis, energy storage, energy conversion, filtration, and single molecule sensing.
