1. Online Dimensionality Reduction
Abstract : In this thesis, we investigate online dimensionality reduction methods, wherethe algorithms learn by sequentially acquiring data. We focus on two specificalgorithm design problems in (i) recommender systems and (ii) heterogeneousclustering from binary user feedback. READ MORE

2. Terminating species and Lewis acid-base preference in oxohalides – a new route to low-dimensional compounds
Abstract : This thesis is based upon synthesis and structure determination of new transition metal oxo-halide compounds, which includes p-element cations that have a stereochemically active lone pair. A synthesis concept has been developed, which uses several different structural features to increase the possibility to yield a low-dimensional arrangement of transition metal cations. READ MORE

3. Electron Transport in Low Dimensional Systems
Abstract : This thesis consists of experimental studies of transport properties in high mobility two dimensional electron gases (2DEGs). Two material systems are used, an AlGaAs/GaAs heterojunction and a GaInAs/InP quantum well. READ MORE

4. Parenting stress : Conceptual and methodological issues
Abstract : High parenting stress has been connected with negative consequences for both parent and child. The aim of the present thesis was to examine factors contributing to high stress, and to develop a psychometrically sound, reliable, and valid instrument for measuring parenting stress. READ MORE

5. "Everybody gets a little bit loco”: Interactions between psychotic experiences and substance use as dimensional phenomena
Abstract : A large amount of persons with psychosis experience problems related to substance use; and many persons with substance use disorders develop psychiatric symptoms, including psychotic experiences (PEs). The co-existence of PEs and substance use disorders increases the risk for social exclusion, health adversities, violence, and aggravation of symptoms. READ MORE
