  3. 3. Ford Motor Company's acquisition of Volvo Cars : the R&D integration process problems and problem areas

    Author : Magnus Lundbäck; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : It is of great importance for automobile companies to achieve benefits of scale in the development of new products because of the high costs involved. During the 1990s the probability of achieving benefits of scale, in order to make the needed savings, has changed dramatically. READ MORE

  4. 4. Modelling of Bulk Metallic Glass formation in Powder Bed Fusion

    Author : Johan Lindwall; Andreas Lundbäck; Mattias Unosson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Material Mechanics; Materialmekanik;

    Abstract : This thesis discusses a model for simulation of the Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) process of metallic powder with the capability to become amorphous. The temperature field in the PBF process is predicted by a three-dimensional thermal finite element model in three dimensions using a layer-by-layer approach, meaning that the scanning strategy of the moving laser spot is consolidated into a single heat source acting on the entire layer momentarily. 5. 5. On the relationship between microstructure, process parameters and mechanical properties of boron steels

    Author : Erik Lundholm; Jörgen Kajberg; Andreas Lundbäck; Paul Åkerström; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : The continuous development of the press hardening technology has led to stronger, lighter and more environmentally friendly components. Utilising the varying properties of boron steel at different temperatures enables great design freedom, while also attaining high strength in the final component. READ MORE
