21. bHLH transcription factors in differentiating neuroblastoma cells
Abstract : Neuroblastoma is a tumor of the sympathetic nervous system, and arises during early childhood. The tumor is highly heterogeneous and evidence, such as expression of genes normally only expressed during embryonic and fetal stages, suggests that the tumor is of embryonic origin and that the tumor arises as a consequence of perturbed differentiation during the development of the sympathetic nervous system. 23. Interactions of Anticancer Active Platinum(II) Complexes with DNA
Abstract : The kinetics and mechanism for interactions of the anticancer active platinum(II) complexes cis-[PtCl2(NH3)2)], cis-[PtCl2(NH3)(c-C6H11NH2)], and trans-[PtCl2-(NH3)(quinoline)] with DNA have been studied using a combination of HPLC, circular dichroism (CD), UV/vis spectroscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Reactions of the monoaqua forms (charge = +1) of these complexes with single-stranded DNA oligonucleotides, typically between 13-17 bases long, were found to depend on i) the composition of the reaction medium, ii) the exact nature and location of the platination target, and iii) on the DNA structure. 24. Diffusion MRI of Small Ischemic Brain Lesions: Technical aspects, clinical experiences and diagnostic criteria
Abstract : Purpose: To compare the visualization of small ischemic brain lesions using diffusion using diffusion-weighted (DW) MRI and conventional imaging, with special regard to diagnostic efficiency. Imaging features of lesions of different ages, diagnostic limitations and technical principles were also investigated. READ MORE
