16. Textile electrodes for ECG measurements in distributed care, performance and applications
Abstract : The aim of this thesis work has been to explore textile electrodes for electrocardiographic (ECG) measurements both in terms of their electrode properties and possibility to further improve their robustness to noise with signal processing techniques. Previous research within the field has shown that acquisition of ECG is possible with textile electrodes, but little attention has been focused on how they function and especially if movements are included in the measurement protocol. 17. On Nonlinear Acoustics in Contrast Echocardiography
Abstract : Ultrasound is one of the most commonly used noninvasive medical imaging techniques. Ultrasound contrast agents (UCA), consisting of encapsulated gas-filled microbubbles, have shown to increase the diagnostic precision in selected low echogenic patients. READ MORE

18. Fiber-optic sensors for blood flow and respiration rate measurements
Abstract : Optical fibers and fiber-optic sensors have in the last century been subjects for a great interest especially in industry and communication but also in medicine. Optical fibers are used in endoscopes and as light guides for laser surgery. READ MORE

19. Correction for displacement artifacts in phase contrast magnetic resonance imaging
Abstract : Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an imaging modality which provides good conditions for studies of flow and motion in the cardiovascular system. A variety of different imaging pulse sequences enables both anatomical and functional studies. READ MORE

20. Testing of Doppler Ultrasound Systems
Abstract : Blood and tissue velocities are measured and analyzed in cardiac, vascular, and other applications of diagnostic ultrasound. Errors in system performance might give invalid measurements. We developed two moving string test targets and a rotating cylinder phantom (Doppler phantoms) to characterize Doppler ultrasound systems.
