21. Prediction of engine component loads using previous measurements
Abstract : Internal combustion engines are used in many applications. The same engine type may have different components mounted to it depending upon its use. These engine mounted components need to be designed against fatigue in order to withstand the engine vibrations. Measured engine vibrations are commonly used as input data for fatigue estimation. 22. Free View Rendering for 3D Video : Edge-Aided Rendering and Depth-Based Image Inpainting
Abstract : Three Dimensional Video (3DV) has become increasingly popular with the success of 3D cinema. Moreover, emerging display technology offers an immersive experience to the viewer without the necessity of any visual aids such as 3D glasses. READ MORE

23. View Rendering for 3DTV
Abstract : Advancements in three dimensional (3D) technologies are rapidly increasing. Three Dimensional Television (3DTV) aims at creating 3D experience for the home user. Moreover, multiview autostereoscopic displays provide a depth impression without the requirement for any special glasses and can be viewed from multiple locations. READ MORE

24. Prediction of the fatigue limit : accuracy of post-processing methods
Abstract : Several fatigue criteria were evaluated with experimental fatigue test data. The fatigue tests contained many different geometries with different degrees of stress concentration. It was concluded that the differences between the criteria were neglectable when compared to the differences between the specimens. READ MORE

25. Selected Topics in Homogenization
Abstract : The main focus of the present thesis is on the homogenization of some selected elliptic and parabolic problems. More precisely, we homogenize: non-periodic linear elliptic problems in two dimensions exhibiting a homothetic scaling property; two types of evolution-multiscale linear parabolic problems, one having two spatial and two temporal microscopic scales where the latter ones are given in terms of a two-parameter family, and one having two spatial and three temporal microscopic scales that are fixed power functions; and, finally, evolution-multiscale monotone parabolic problems with one spatial and an arbitrary number of temporal microscopic scales that are not restricted to be given in terms of power functions.
