  1. 1. Growth, Physics, and Device Applications of InAs-based Nanowires

    Author : Linus Fröberg; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; field effect transistors; Low-dimensional structures; nanowires; chemical beam epitaxy; heterostructures; III-V; InP; InAs; quantum dots; gate all-around; wrap gate;

    Abstract : This thesis is based on three different projects: 1) the epitaxial growth of nanowires using chemical beam epitaxy, 2) the study of electron transport through quantum dots and multiple quantum dots in nanowires at low temperature, and 3) the development of wrap gated nanowire field effect transistors. In the first part, a method of studying the diffusion of the source material on the substrate surface was developed. READ MORE

  2. 2. Integral Closure and Related Operations on Monomial Ideals

    Author : Veronica Crispin Quiñonez; Ralf Fröberg; Christian Gottlieb; Marco D'Anna; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Integral closure; monomial ideal; minimal reduction; Ratliff-Rush; Algebra and geometry; Algebra och geometri;

    Abstract : The motivation for this thesis starts with the theory of Hilbert coefficients. It is a well known fact that given an ideal I the integral closure Ī can be defined as the largest ideal with the same multiplicity as I. For monomial ideals there is an alternative definition. READ MORE

  3. 3. Ekedahl Invariants, Veronese Modules and Linear Recurrence Varieties

    Author : Ivan Martino; Anders Björner; Volkmar Welker; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ekedahl Invariants; Noether Problem; Bogomolov Multiplier; Cyclic quotient singularities; Veronese Modules; Pile simplicial complex; Semigroup Rings; Betti Numbers; Mathematics; matematik;

    Abstract : The title of this thesis refers to the three parts of which it is composed.The first part concerns the Ekedahl Invariants, new geometric invariants for finite groups introduced in 2009 by Torsten Ekedahl. READ MORE
