  1. 1. Techno-economic analysis of integrated biomass gasification for green chemical production

    Author : Jim Andersson; Anders Hultgren; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Abstract : Production of renewable motor fuels and green chemicals is important in the development towards a more sustainable society where fossil fuels are replaced. The global annual production of methanol and ammonia from fossil fuels is very large. READ MORE

  2. 2. Neoproterozoic-Early Cambrian organic-walled microfossils : Ultrastructural and biogeochemical search for their affinities

    Author : Nina M. Talyzina; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Historical Geology and Paleontology; historisk geologi och paleontologi;

    Abstract : The Neoproterozoic-Cambrian transition is marked by conspicuous radiation of skeletal fauna comparable to modern invertebrates. Phylogenetic relationships of living organisms, based on their genetic and ultrastructural complexity, suggest that most prokaryotic and protistan organisms should have evolved by the time of origination of coelomate organisms. 3. 3. Electrochromic Nickel – Tungsten Oxides : Optical, Electrochemical and Structural Characterization of Sputter-deposited Thin Films in the Whole Composition Range

    Author : Sara Green; Gunnar Niklasson; Claes-Göran Granqvist; Esteban Avendaño; Aline Rougier; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrochromism; Nickel oxide; Tungsten oxide; Lithium intercalation; Sputtering; Thin films; Nanostructures; Optical properties; Solid State Physics; Fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates the electrochromic NixW1-x oxide thin film system, where 0 < x < 1. The thin films were deposited by reactive DC magnetron co-sputtering from one Ni and one W metal target. In addition, Ni oxide was deposited with water vapor added to the sputtering gas. READ MORE

  4. 4. Mapping the Golgi retention signal in the G1 membrane glycoprotein of Uukuniemi virus, a member of the Bunyaviridae family

    Author : Agneta M Andersson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Golgi complex; retention signal; protein transport; virus membrane glycoproteins; virus budding; Uukuniemi virus; Phlebovirus; Bunyaviridae;

    Abstract : Newly synthesized secretory and integral membrane proteins destined for the plasma membrane are transported along the exocytic pathway from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) via the Golgi complex (GC) to the cell surface. Some of the transported proteins contain information, which target them to their correct intracellular locations. READ MORE

  5. 5. Seagrass Respiration : An assessment of oxygen consumption patterns of temperate marine macrophytes

    Author : Lina M. Rasmusson; Mats Björk; Martin Gullström; Katharina Pawlowski; Jonas Collén; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mitochondrial respiration; Photorespiration; Seagrass productivity; Zostera marina; Marine carbon budgets; Ruppia maritima; Ulva intestinalis; Plant Physiology; växtfysiologi;

    Abstract : In coastal seas, the abundance of marine macrophytes has profound influence on the flows of oxygen and inorganic carbon through the water. Vast amounts of carbon dioxide are taken up by photosynthesis and part of this is respired back into the water column. READ MORE
