  1. 1. Failure Prediction of Complex Load Cases in Sheet Metal Forming : Emphasis on Non-Linear Strain Paths, Stretch-Bending and Edge Effects

    Author : Alexander Barlo; Tobias Larsson; Mats Sigvant; Md. Shafiqul Islam; Johan Pilthammar; Karl Brian Nielsen; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Sheet Metal Forming; Failure Prediction; Non-Linear Strain Paths; Stretch-Bending; Edge Effects; Maskinteknik; Mechanical Engineering;

    Abstract : With the increased focus on reducing carbon emissions in today’s society, several industries have to overcome new challenges, where especially the automotive industry is under a lot of scrutiny to deliver improved and more environmentally friendly products. To meet the demands from customers and optimize vehicles aerodynamically, new cars often contain complex body geometries, together with advanced materials that are introduced to reduce the total vehicle weight. 2. 2. Peripheral apolipoprotein E and its emerging role in neurodegenerative disease

    Author : Andreas Giannisis; Henrietta M. Nielsen; Kim Kultima; Johan Ankarklev; Cheryl Wellington; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Alzheimer’s disease; apolipoprotein E; humanized-liver mice; race; diet; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Abstract : The human apolipoprotein E gene (APOE) is polymorphic and coding for three common alleles; ε2, ε3, and ε4. Carriers of the ε4 allele are at a higher risk of developing sporadic late-onset Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). This association appears to be influenced by inherited traits, race, and sex. READ MORE

  3. 3. Apolipoprotein E and alpha-synuclein interactions, and their associations with neurodegenerative diseases

    Author : Daniel Twohig; Henrietta M. Nielsen; Andreas Barth; Tiago Fleming Outeiro; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Abstract : The apolipoprotein E gene (APOE) is expressed as three major isoforms, APOE ε2, ε3 and ε4 that encode the apoE2, E3 and E4 proteins, respectively. APOE ε4 is associated with an increased risk for age-related neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), and increases the risk of dementia in Parkinson’s disease (PD), however, the exact molecular mechanisms underpinning the associations between APOE ε4 and neurodegeneration are still unknown. 4. 4. Array-based Autoantibody Profiling and Epitope Mapping

    Author : Arash Zandian; Peter Nilsson; Jochen M. Schwenk; Maja Neiman; Morten Nielsen; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; antibody; antigens; peptide; epitope mapping; autoimmunity; autoantibodies; microarrays; Bioteknologi; Biotechnology;

    Abstract : Antibodies are a class of proteins that are made by the immune system to recognize harmful organisms and molecules. Their exceptional capability of specifically recognizing molecules has been investigated for over a century and information thereof has been utilized for a variety of applications including vaccine and generation of therapeutic antibodies. 5. 5. New strategies for characterizing Prussian blue analogues

    Author : Ida Nielsen; William Robert Brant; Andrew Kentaro Inge; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Prussian blue analogues; positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy; Mössbauer spectroscopy; sodium-ion batteries; neutron diffraction; octahedral tilting; sodium iron hexacyanoferrate; Kemi med inriktning mot materialkemi; Chemistry with specialization in Materials Chemistry;

    Abstract : Prussian blue analogues (PBAs), AxM[M’(CN)6]1–y·zH2O, are used in many different applications, such as energy storage, due to their tunable composition and structural diversity. To understand the material properties, it is important to accurately determine the composition and atomic structure of these materials. READ MORE
