  1. 1. Transformation Optics for Controlling DC Magnetic Field

    Author : Fei Sun; Sailing He; Hao Yang; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Transformation magneto-statics; magnets; DC magnetic field; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Abstract : Based on the form-invariant of Maxwell’s equations under coordinate transformations, we extend the theoryof transformation optics to transformation magneto-statics, which can design magnets through coordinatetransformations. Some novel DC magnetic field illusions created by magnets (e.g. READ MORE

  2. 2. Cryogenic InP High Electron Mobility Transistors in a Magnetic Field

    Author : Isabel Harrysson Rodrigues; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; magnetic field; cryogenic; low noise amplifier; angular dependence; InP HEMT; geometrical magnetoresistance;

    Abstract : The InGaAs-InAlAs-InP high electron mobility transistor (InP HEMT) is the preferred active device used in a cryogenic low noise amplifier (LNA) for sensitive detection of microwave signals. In this thesis it is demonstrated that the InP HEMT, when placed in a magnetic field, has a strong angular dependence in its output current. READ MORE

  4. 4. Fibre Optic Magnetic Field Sensors Utilizing Iron Garnet Materials

    Author : Hans Sohlström; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; yig; iron garnets; rare earth garnets; magneto-opics; optical waveguide; fibre optical sensors; magnetic field measurement; current measurement;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the subject of fibre optic magnetic field sensors utilizing iron garnet materials. Such materials exhibit a large Faraday rotation which make them advantageous for application in compact magnetic field sensors. READ MORE

  5. 5. Excitons in a high magnetic field

    Author : Alexandre V. Petrov; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik; Physics; Fysik; fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The interaction of excitons with each other and with charged impurities has been studied in a high magnetic field when the distance between the Landau levels is greater than the Coulomb unit of energy, in the frame of the model suitable for description of Wannier excitons in semiconductors. The analytical expressions for the pair interaction potential between hydrogenlike excitons in a high magnetic field are derived for the triplet and singlet terms. READ MORE
