  1. 6. Solvent–Solute Interaction : Studied by Synchrotron Radiation Based Photo and Auger Electron Spectroscopies

    Author : Wandared Pokapanich; Olle Björneholm; Gunnar Öhrwall; Maxim Tchaplyguine; Arnaldo Naves de Brito; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Interatomic Coulombic Decay; ICD; Auger electron spectroscopy; AES; X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy; XPS; Ultra-violet spectroscopy; UPS; localized; delocalized; double ionization potential; DIP; two hole; final states; Water; H2O; Potassium chloride; KCl; Calcium chloride; CaCl2; Ammonium; NH4; Core hole; clock; lifetime; solvated; ion; alkali; halide; Coster Kronig; MAX-lab; BESSY; Liquid physics; Vätskefysik; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Abstract : Aqueous solutions were studied using photoelectron and Auger spectroscopy, based on synchrotron radiation and a liquid micro-jet setup. By varying the photon energy in photoelectron spectra, we depth profiled an aqueous tetrabutylammonium iodide (TBAI) solution. READ MORE

  2. 7. Multicomponent Clusters/Nanoparticles : An Investigation of Electronic and Geometric Properties by Photoelectron Spectroscopy

    Author : Chaofan Zhang; Olle Björneholm; Maxim Tchaplyguine; Svante Svensson; Gerd Ganteför; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Clusters; Nanoparticles; Alloy; Atmospheric chemistry; Alkali halide; Transition metals; X-ray Photoelectron spectroscopy; Polarizability; Core-shell; Sandwich structure; MAX-lab; BESSY II;

    Abstract : Clusters/nanoparticles are aggregates of a “small” number of building blocks, atoms or molecules, ranging from two up to millions of atoms. Two main groups of clusters have been studied using photoelectron spectroscopy based on synchrotron radiation. READ MORE

  3. 8. Response of the PANDA electromagnetic calorimeter to photons with energies below 100 MeV

    Author : Klas Marcks von Würtemberg; Per-Erik Tegnér; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PANDA elecromagnetic calorimeter response PWO; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Nuclear Physics; kärnfysik;

    Abstract : Characteristics of the electromagnetic calorimeter of PANDA (anti-Proton ANnihilations at DArmstadt), one of the key experiments at FAIR, have been measured at the tagged photon beam facility at MAX-lab for 61 energies in the range 12-63 MeV. The tested detector array consisted of 5x5 PbWO4 (lead tungstate) crystals designed for the forward end-cap. READ MORE

  4. 9. Picosecond X-ray Diffraction Studies of Bulk and Nanostructure Materials

    Author : Andrius Jurgilaitis; Atomfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; solid-liquid transitions; X-ray diffraction and scattering; nanowires; laser beam impact phenomena; phonons in crystal lattices; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Jurgilaitis;

    Abstract : Fast phenomena occurring after laser excitation were studied using time-resolved X-ray diffraction (TXRD). In most experiments, a femtosecond laser pulse was used to excite the sample, and X-rays were used as a probe. READ MORE

  5. 10. Electron beam sizes and lifetimes at MAX II and MAX III

    Author : Anders Rosborg; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electron accelerator; Storage ring; Synchrotron light source; Synchrotron radiation; Electron beam profile; Emittance; Beam size; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Hansson; Lifetime; Bunch length; Landau cavities;

    Abstract : The MAX II and MAX III synchrotron light sources at MAX-lab provide synchrotron radiation for experiments in a wide variety of research fields. The synchrotron radiation is emitted by ultra-relativistic electrons circulating in electron storage rings. READ MORE
