  1. 1. Bone grafts and dental implants in the reconstruction of the severely atrophied, edentulous maxilla

    Author : Björn Johansson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; dental implants; maxilla; grafted bone; implant failure; clinical study; computed tomography; cutting torque; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; plastikkirurgi; Plastic Surgery;

    Abstract : In two prospective, clinical studies the stability of implants and prosthetic constructions were evaluated after three years of loading. In the first study, the implant and the bridge stability of 39 patients with 1-stage bone grafts, were compared to a reference-group of 37 patients who did not need bone grafts. READ MORE

  2. 2. On factors influencing the outcome of various methods using endosseous implants for reconstruction of the atrophic edentulous and partially dentate maxilla

    Author : Jonas Becktor; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : dental implants; grafted bone; maxilla; clinical follow-up; zygomatic implants;

    Abstract : Surgical reconstruction of the severely resorbed edentulous maxilla often requires a combination of bone grafts and dental implants. Different methods have been used during the years where donor site, type of bone graft, healing period, timing of implant placement and implant surface have varied. READ MORE

  3. 3. On surgical techniques to increase bone density and volume. Studies in the rat and the rabbit

    Author : Christer Slotte; Göteborgs universitet; []

    Abstract : BACKGROUND. Various techniques of surgical intervention have been suggested to promote bone densityand volume; however, the predictability of such techniques is not always sufficiently supported by preclinicalevaluations.AIM. READ MORE

  4. 4. Studies on maxillary overdentures : implant- and prosthesis survival, cost analysis and patient-reported outcomes

    Author : Peyman Ghiasi; Christel Larsson; Bruno Chrcanovic; Sofia Petrén; Victoria Franke Stenport; Malmö universitet; []

    Abstract : Edentulism is a debilitating condition which may negatively affect quality of life, particularly in relation to nutritional and social health, speech, and poor facial appearance. Prosthetic options available range from conventional complete dentures to implant-supported overdentures (ISODs) and implant-supported full arch fixed partial dentures (ISFAFDPs). READ MORE

  5. 5. Aspects of maxillary sinus reconstruction with endosseous implants

    Author : John Eric Blomqvist; Lunds universitet; []

    Abstract : This study of maxillary sinus reconstruction in conjunction with insertion of endosseous implants included 99 patients. Two separate surgical methods were applied; a one-staged strategy (n=49) and a two-staged strategy (n=50). The aims were to compare two different strategies concerning implant and prosthetic construction survival. READ MORE
