1. MCNPX Simulations for Neutron Cross Section Measurements
Abstract : This thesis presents MCNPX simulations of the SCANDAL set-up used at the Theodor Svedberg Laboratory for neutron scattering cross-section measurements. The thesis describes processes and data important for the upcoming off-line data analysis. READ MORE

2. Benchmark of simulation of an ion guide for neutron-induced fission products
Abstract : Independent yield distributions of high-energy neutron-induced fission are of importance to achieve a good understanding of fission. Even though the mass and charge yield distributions of thermal neutron-induced fission are well known, there are few experimental data for high-energy neutron-induced fission. READ MORE

3. Towards a Flexible Monte Carlo Calibration of a Whole Body Counter Spectrometer System - Highlighting the Need of Increased Model Complexity for Large Plastic Scintillators
Abstract : Whole body counters, WBC, can be used for fast and accurate screening and follow-ups in the case of an emergency situation involving ionizing radiation given that the WBC calibration method is fast and versatile. A Monte Carlo model of a WBC system could meet these requirements under the condition that the model is an accurate description of the WBC system. READ MORE

4. Modeling of radiative processes in organic scintillators
Abstract : This thesis presents the development of a Monte Carlo calibration of a whole body counter (WBC), consisting of four large plastic (organic) scintillators, used for determine the body burden of gamma-emitting radionuclides. A scintillator emits optical photons after energy has been deposited by an ionizing particle in the scintillator material. READ MORE

5. Neutron emission spectroscopy of fusion plasmas with a NE213 liquid scintillator at JET
Abstract : Neutron diagnostics will play a fundamental role in future fusion plasma machines, where the harsh environment will make the use of many other type of diagnos-tics practically impossible. Complex techniques to measure the neutron spectrumemitted from tokamk plasmas have been developed over the years, producing stateof the art neutron spectrometers. READ MORE
