1. Dimensioning Tools of MEA Actuator Systems, Including Modeling, Analysis and Technology Comparison
Abstract : Aircraft design is an example of complex engineering where dimensioning tools can be valuable for the designers and decision makers in the early stage of the development process. These tools can be in form of a database over key numbers for different components or technologies. One of the critical parts of an aircraft is the actuator system. READ MORE

2. Modeling of post-combustion carbon capture in power plants and process industries - partial capture and load following conditions
Abstract : Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is recognized as a potent technology for the mitigation of global warming, since it can significantly reduce CO2 emission from large point source emitters. Post-combustion CO2 capture using chemical absorption is a versatile end-of-pipe technology that can be implemented at all point sources of CO2, such as a power production facility or industrial plant. 3. Infrared Neural Modulation: Photothermal Effects on Cortex Neurons Using Infrared Laser Heating
Abstract : It would be of great value to have a precise and non-damaging neuromodulation technique in the field of basic neuroscience research and for clinical treatment of neurological diseases. Infrared neural modulation (INM) is a new modulation modality developed in the last decade, which uses pulsed or continues infrared (IR) light with a wavelength of 1200 to 2200 nm to directly alter neural signals. 4. On magnetic amplifiers in aircraft applications
Abstract : In the process of designing an electric power supply system for an aircraft, parameters like low weight and low losses are important. Reliability, robustness and low cost are other important factors. READ MORE

5. A Spectroscopic Study of Interfacial Films: Internal Structuring, Stability, and Hydration
Abstract : Monolayers of molecules are capable of completely changing the nature of surfaces and their interactions with the surroundings despite their almost negligible thickness. In the research presented in this doctoral thesis the surface specific technique Vibrational Sum Frequency Spectroscopy (VSFS) was combined with the Langmuir trough to investigate various manifestations of monolayers, such as biomimetic membranes, mono methyl branched long chain fatty acids in contact with air, and hydrophobic silane monolayers in contact with water.
