21. Stability and Statistical Analysis of Transient Waves in Fusion Plasmas
Abstract : Thermonuclear energy generation in magnetically confined plasmas offers an appealing energy source for coming generations. Some of the still unsolved problems in fusion plasma physics involve plasma transport and stability of plasma waves. Two such problems are addressed in the present thesis. READ MORE

22. Feedback control of resistive wall modes in the reversed field pinch
Abstract : A wide range of unstable current driven MHD modes is present in the re- versed τeld pinch (RFP) conτguration. An ideally conducting wall facing the plasma can stabilize the ideal MHD modes. READ MORE

23. Mathematical Analysis of Forced Convective Flow Due to Stretching Sheet and Instabilities of Natural Convective Flow
Abstract : The investigations presented in the thesis are theoretical studies of magnetohydrodynamic flows, heat and mass transfer in Newtonian/non-Newtonian cooling liquids, due to horizontal/vertical stretching sheet. The theoretical studies include the effect of magnetic field, uniform and non-uniform heat source/sink (flow and temperature dependent heat source/sink) effects. READ MORE

24. Computational Studies of Magnetohydrodynamic Stability for Reversed-Field Pinches and Tokamaks
Abstract : This work describes the ideal & resistive Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stability properties of Tokamak and Reversed-Field Pinch (RFP) plasmas. The first four papers are concerned with the cylindrical approximation of RFPs and tokamaks whereas the final two papers deal with a fully toroidal description. READ MORE

25. Geometric discretization for incompressible magnetohydrodynamics on the sphere
Abstract : Many physical processes are modelled by partial differential equations (PDE), and their efficient discretization is still a challenging problem and an actively developing field. An important class of models arising in mathematical physics represents PDEs formulated in terms of a Lie-Poisson structure on the dual of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras, such as the Lie algebra of vector fields.
