21. Development and evaluation of methods for control and modelling of multiple-input multiple-output systems
Abstract : In control, a common type of system is the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, where the same input may affect multiple outputs, or conversely, the same output is affected by multiple inputs. In this thesis two methods for controlling MIMO systems are examined, namely linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control and decentralized control, and some of the difficulties associated with them. 22. Cell-Free Massive MIMO : Scalability, Signal Processing and Power Control
Abstract : The fifth generation of mobile communication systems (5G) is nowadays a reality. 5G networks are been deployed all over the world, and the first 5G-capable devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, wearable, etc. READ MORE

23. Performance Bounds for Very Large Multiuser MIMO Systems
Abstract : The last ten years have seen significant advances of multiuser MIMO (MU-MIMO) in wireless communication. MU-MIMO is now being introduced in several new generation wireless standards (e.g.,LTE-Advanced, 802. READ MORE

24. GNSS and Massive MIMO : Spoofing, Jamming and Robust Receiver Design for Impulsive Noise
Abstract : In this thesis, we focus on vulnerabilities and robustness of two wireless communication technologies: global navigation satellite system (GNSS), a technology that provides position-velocity-time information, and massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO), a core cellular 5G technology. In particular, we investigate spoofing and jamming attacks to GNSS and massive MIMO, respectively, and the robust massive MIMO receiver against impulsive noises. READ MORE

25. CMOS Data Converters for Closed-Loop mmWave Transmitters
Abstract : With the increased amount of data consumed in mobile communication systems, new solutions for the infrastructure are needed. Massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) is seen as a key enabler for providing this increased capacity. With the use of a large number of transmitters, the cost of each transmitter must be low.
