1. Mis-Movements : The Aesthetics of Gesture in Samuel Beckett's Drama
Abstract : This study explores Beckett’s use of physical movements in his plays as part of a strategy to escape the limits of semantic meaning and as an instrument of artistic expression. In a sense, the use of physical movements constitutes a phenomenological, heuristic ‘solution’ to the problem of presentation and representation that Beckett explicitly addresses already in the early 1930s. 2. High-resolution simulations of two cold palaeo climates in Europe : MIS 3 and LGM
Abstract : The study of past climate is important because it increases our understanding of how the climate system works. Past climate is often reconstructed by using proxies (that is observations of things that tell something about past climate, for example tree rings, pollen in lake sediments and fossils). READ MORE

3. Electrical Characterization of Novel Insulators in Metal-Insulator-Semiconductor Structures
Abstract : This thesis comprises seven papers (A-G) and an extended introduction which puts them into context within a broader field of research. The papers deal with the electrical characterization of some different insulators and interfaces encountered within the realm of silicon based microelectronics. READ MORE

4. Impact of Ionizing Radiation on 4H-SiC Devices
Abstract : Electronic components, based on current semiconductor technologies and operating in radiation rich environments, suffer degradation of their performance as a result of radiation exposure. Silicon carbide (SiC) provides an alternate solution as a radiation hard material, because of its wide bandgap and higher atomic displacement energies, for devices intended for radiation environment applications. 5. Design and characterization of MIS devices
Abstract : This work is a part of the research performed at the Research Laboratory of Electronics (Elektronfysik III), concerning [metal-insulator-semiconductor] MIS field-effect devices. It deals with the properties of different memory devices, such as the [metal-nitride-oxide-semiconductor] MNOS and the [floating-gate avalanche-injection metal-oxide-semiconductor] FAMOS memory transistors, where the [metal insulator semiconductor] MIS structure is utilized for information storage.
