  1. 16. Efficient mm-Wave Transmitter Design in CMOS Technology

    Author : Therese Forsberg; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : CMOS; transmitter; analog; integrated circuits; millieter-wave;

    Abstract : An increasing demand of higher data rates in wireless communication forces the industry to look to higher frequencies to find the required bandwidths. This thesis is about analog transmitters in CMOS for millimeter-wave communication, and it focuses on improving power amplifiers and frequency generation circuits, and increase their efficiency. 2. 17. Calculations of accurate energies in proteins with QM/MM methods

    Author : Jimmy Heimdal; Beräkningskemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Accurate calculation of energies for protein reactions is a hard problem. There are many reasons for wanting to calculate these energies, e.g. ligand design and the study of enzyme reactions. READ MORE

  3. 18. Quantum and quantum-classical calculations of core-ionized molecules in varied environments

    Author : Tuomas Löytynoja; Hans Ågren; Jukka Tulkki; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electron spectroscopy; UPS; XPS; photodissociation; binding energy; ionization potential; computational; electronic structure; self-consistent field; DFT; QM MM; gas phase; liquid; solution; physisorption; metallic surface; polymer; charge transfer; Teoretisk kemi och biologi; Theoretical Chemistry and Biology;

    Abstract : Computational quantum chemistry methods have been applied in two particular cases: to provide insight to photoionization induced fragmentation of HgBr2 and HgCl2 molecules, and to study core-electron binding energies and chemical shifts of molecules in liquid, surface adsorbed and polymeric environments in the framework of quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM). In the photodissociation studies the computational work is based on the relativistic Dirac equation as the systems present strong spin-orbit interaction affecting the fragmentation processes. 4. 19. Microwave Radiometric Observations of the Middle Atmosphere: Simulations and Inversions

    Author : Patrick Eriksson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; atmospheric radiative transfer; middle atmosphere; sub-mm; data inversion; profile retrieval; microwaves; limb sounding; ozone; remote sensing;

    Abstract : Two well-known examples of global environmental problems are the ozone depletion and the enhanced greenhouse effect. The importance and the complexity of these questions generate a demand for improved atmospheric observations, and microwave radiometry is an approach which is increasingly important for measurements of the middle atmosphere (10-100 km). 5. 20. Reaction mechanism of metalloenzymes studied by theoretical methods

    Author : Geng Dong; Beräkningskemi; []
    Keywords : Metalloenzymes; Reaction mechanism; QM MM; DFT; DMRG; CAS-srDFT; Big-QM; QTCP;

    Abstract : Metalloenzymes catalyse a wide variety of reactions in nature. In the thesis, I have studied the reaction mechanism of three metalloenzymes, viz. READ MORE
