  1. 6. Activity and Regulation of Telomerase in Malignant Cells

    Author : Anna Lindkvist; Ylva Paulsson-Karlsson; Göran Roos; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; apoptosis; ATC; c-Myc; drug sensitivity; ESCC; hTERT; hypoxia; IFN; MM; neuroblastoma; p53; telomerase; TGF-β; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin;

    Abstract : An important step in tumorgenesis is the acquisition of cellular immortality. Tumor cells accomplish this by activating the enzyme telomerase, and thereby avoiding replicative senescence. The aim of this thesis was to study the activity and regulation of telomerase in a panel of malignant cell types. READ MORE

  2. 7. Analysis of Industrial Microwave Ovens

    Author : Magnus Sundberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; source model; heat transfer; moment method; finite difference time domain; TM applicator; GMT; edge diffraction; thermal simulation; MMP; FDTD; generalized multipole technique; cost function; MM; optimization; magnetron; simulated annealing; multiple multipole program; microwave heating; edge overheating; TE applicator; tunnel-oven; applicator;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the analysis and design of microwave ovens used in the food industry. Such analysis is desirable in order to optimize the performance of the ovens and to reduce the time and expenses of developing new or improved ovens. READ MORE

  3. 8. Computation of EMC Properties of Slots and Printed Circuit Boards

    Author : Jan Carlsson; RISE; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; corrugations; crosstalk; FDTD; spectral domain; EFIE; chokes; Finite Difference Method; printed circuit board; transmission line network; EMC analysis; PCB; transmission line theory; radiated emission; Method of moments; MM; MoM; electric field integral equation; soft and hard surfaces; slot; radiated susceptibility;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the numerical solution of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) problems for electronic systems, such as radiated emission, susceptibility and crosstalk on printed circuit boards and transmission through slots. The analysis of printed circuit boards is done by using an electric field integral equation (EFIE) expressed in the frequency domain, which is solved by using the method of moments. READ MORE

  4. 9. Transmitter Linearization for mm-Wave Communications Systems

    Author : Halil Volkan Hünerli; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; linearization; transmitter; mm-wave power amplifier; Eband; analog predistorter; digital predistortion;

    Abstract : There is an ever increasing need for enabling higher data rates in modern communication systems which brings new challenges in terms of the power consumption and nonlinearity of hardware components. These problems become prominent in power amplifiers (PAs) and can significantly degrade the performance of transmitters, and hence the overall communication system. READ MORE
