    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; System-level design; platform-based designembedded systems; field programmable gate arrays; integrated circuit design; integrated circuit modelling; network-on-chip; FPGA; NoC-based MPSoC; Simulink; common semantics domain; dataflow applications; design flow; embedded system; multiprocessor systems; network-on-chip; Computational modeling; Field programmable gate arrays; Mathematical model; Program processors; Prototypes; Semantics; ;

    Abstract : Network-on-chip (NoC) based multi-processor systems-on-chip (MPSoCs) are promising candidates for future multi-processor embedded platforms, which are expected to be composed of hundreds of heterogeneous processing elements (PEs) to potentially provide high performances. However, together with the performances, the systems complexity will increase, and new high level design techniques will be needed to efficiently model, simulate, debug and synthesize them. Abstract : The last two decades have witnessed the birth of revolutionary technologies in data communications including wireless technologies, System on Chip (SoC), Multi Processor SoC (MPSoC), Network on Chip (NoC), and more. At the same time we have witnessed that performance does not always keep pace with expectations in many services like multimediaservices and biomedical applications. READ MORE

  3. 3. A System-Level Framework for Energy and Performance Estimation in System-on-Chip Architectures

    University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Author : Sandro Penolazzi; Ahmed Hemani; Anshul Kumar; [2011]

    Abstract : Shifting the design entry point up to the system level is the most important countermeasure adopted to manage the increasing complexity of SoCs. The reason is that decisions taken at this level, early in the design cycle, have the greatest impact on the final design in terms of performance, energy efficiency and silicon area occupation. Abstract : Featured with good scalability, modularity and large bandwidth, Network-on-Chip (NoC) has been widely applied in manycore Chip Multiprocessor (CMP) and Multiprocessor System-on-Chip (MPSoC) architectures. The provision of guaranteed service emerges as an important NoC design problem due to the application requirements in Quality-of-Service (QoS). READ MORE
