11. Prime-boost immunization strategies against HIV-1
Abstract : Since the start of the global HIV epidemic in 1981, more than twentyfive million people have succumbed to AIDS-related diseases. The epidemic is most severe in Sub-Saharan Africa, where twentyfive million people are currently infected and more than two million died during 2006. READ MORE

13. Directed Evolution of Glutathione Transferases Guided by Multivariate Data Analysis
Abstract : Evolution of enzymes with novel functional properties has gained much attention in recent years. Naturally evolved enzymes are adapted to work in living cells under physiological conditions, circumstances that are not always available for industrial processes calling for novel and better catalysts. 14. Importance of insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor and EWS/FLI-1 fusion protein in growth and survival of two different types of neuroectodermal tumor cells
Abstract : Treatment with comparatively low doses of the 3-hydroxy-3-metylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitor lovastatin caused growth arrest in both melanoma cells and Ewing's sarcoma (ES) cells. In melanoma cells growth inhibition was correlated with a drastic decrease in N-linked glycosylation of the insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R), which in turn was followed by a decreased expression of IGF-1 binding sites at the cell surface. 15. Fast-response rotating brushless exciters for improved stability of synchronous generators
Abstract : The Norwegian Network Code FIKS from the Norwegian Transmission System Operator (TSO) Statnett, states that synchronous generators ≥ 25 MVA must have a static excitation system. It also includes requirements on the step time response and the available field winding ceiling voltage of the excitation system. READ MORE
