  1. 1. Attenuation of hand-held machine vibrations. Application of non-linear tuned vibration absorber

    Author : Hans Lindell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Impact machine; Hand-arm vibration; High frequency vibration; ATVA; Nonlinear tuned vibration absorber; White finger; HAVS; Transient vibration; Auto Tuned Vibration Absorber; Vibration dynamics; ISO 5349;

    Abstract : Vibration injury in the hand-arm system from vibrating hand-held machines is one of the most common occupational health injuries and causes severe and often chronic nerve and vascular injuries to the operator. The objective with this study is to contribute to reduce hand-arm vibration injuries, first by developing methods of redesigning machines that will lower their vibration level and second to study how high frequency vibrations (HFV) above 1250 Hz effect the finger tissue which are not included in the current standard for risk evaluation. Abstract : This thesis addresses a challenging problem: “how to let the visually impaired ‘see’ others emotions”. We, human beings, are heavily dependent on facial expressions to express ourselves. A smile shows that the person you are talking to is pleased, amused, relieved etc. READ MORE

  4. 4. Design, Modelling and Control of Electrical Machines - With Applications to Iron-powder Machines and Acoustic Noise

    Author : David Martinez; Industriell elektroteknik och automation; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; BEM; induction machine; noise prediction; vector control; acoustic noise; HEV; series magnetization; leakage reduction; thermal model; FEM; MEC; claw-poles; SMC; slip-ring-less machine; sound intensity measurements; vibration; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of two parts, the first dealing with the design of iron-powder synchronous machines, and the second with the analysis and prediction of the acoustic noise in electrical machines. In Part I, a 1.6 kW electrically magnetized claw-pole machine with magnetically conducting end-plates has been analyzed and a prototype tested. READ MORE

  5. 5. Joint Interface Effects on Machining System Vibration

    Author : Qilin Fu; Cornel-Mihai Nicolescu; Tomas Beno; KTH; []
    Keywords : Joint Interface; Vibration; Damping; Chatter; Machining; Carbon NanoComposite; PECVD; HiPIMS; SRA - Production; SRA - Produktion; Järnvägsgruppen - Ljud och vibrationer; Järnvägsgruppen - Ljud och vibrationer;

    Abstract : Vibration problems are still the major constraint in modern machining processes that seek higher material removal rate, shorter process time, longer tool life and better product quality. Depending on the process, the weaker structure element can be the tool/tool holder, workpiece/fixture or both. READ MORE
