  1. 1. Influence of Oxygen Enrichment on the Oxidation of a Magnetite Pellet Bed During Pot Furnace Induration

    Author : Anna Eriksson; Charlotte Andersson; Hesham Ahmed; Timo Fabritius; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Oxygen enrichment; Magnetite pellet bed; Oxidation; Pot furnace; Induration; Fossil-free ironmaking; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Abstract : This study was motivated by the excess oxygen that likely results from the current transition to hydrogen-based Swedish steel production. The potential usability of large amounts of oxygen in a process gas for iron ore pellet induration could improve the process efficiency in terms of fuel consumption and productivity. READ MORE

  2. 2. Some aspects of hydrogen reduction of iron ore

    Author : Oscar Hessling; Pär Jönsson; Du Sichen; Niklas Kojola; Henrik Saxén; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; hydrogen; reduction; iron ore; mechanisms; microstructure; Materials Science and Engineering; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Abstract : Fines of hematite and magnetite were studied in the fluidized bed using a pure hydrogen atmosphere in the temperature range of 768 to 888 K. Hematite pellets were studied based on Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) experiments using hydrogen atmospheres containing 0–15 % pH2O, in the temperature range of 873 to 1173 K. READ MORE

  3. 3. Computational Fluid Dynamics of Processes in Iron Ore Grate-Kiln Plants

    Author : Per Burström; Xue-Song Bai; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strömningslära; Fluid Mechanics;

    Abstract : Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) approaches have been developed to studypollution reduction in the manufacturing phase and heat transfer in the packed beds of iron ore pellets. CFD is a versatile tool that can be applied to study numerous problems in fluid mechanics. READ MORE
