  2. 17. Ultra-wideband Antenna and Radio Front-end Systems

    Author : Magnus Karlsson; Anders Rydberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wireless communication; ultra-wideband; radio communication; UWB bandwidth; antenna parallelism; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Abstract : The number of wireless communication applications increase steadily, leading to the competition for currently allocated frequency bands. Pressure on authorities around the world to permit communications in higher and wider frequency ranges to achieve higher wireless capacity than those existed in the past has resulted in several new specifications. 4. 19. Predicting Ecosystem Response from Pollution in Baltic Archipelago areas using Mass-balance Modelling

    Author : Olof Magnus Karlsson; Andreas Bryhn; Lars Håkanson; Per Jonsson; Mikael Malmaeus; Kristoffer Naes; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Baltic Sea; archipelagos; aquatic ecosystems mass-balance modelling; sediment-water dynamics; phosphorus; dioxins; PCDD Fs; Other earth sciences; Övrig geovetenskap; Earth Science with specialization in Environmental Analysis; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot miljöanalys;

    Abstract : Baltic archipelago areas have high nature values despite being polluted from various antrophogenic activities within the Baltic Sea catchment area and from long-range transport of airborne substances. The discovery of environmental problems in the Baltic Sea in the 1960s led to countermeasures that gradually gave results in reducing the toxic pollution, e. READ MORE

  5. 20. Fatigue and Peripheral Muscle Dysfunction: Studies on Vitamin D Status, Muscle Metabolism and Systemic Inflammation in Patients with COPD : Aspects of COPD severity beyond FEV1 and exacerbations

    Author : Magnus Kentson; Lennart Persson; Jan-Erik Karlsson; Fredrik Nyström; Arne Egesten; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : BackgroundThe severity of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is usually described in terms of forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) and number of exacerbations. However, COPD is a complex disease with different ways of expression, involving pulmonary symptoms, extra pulmonal manifestations and comorbidities, which altogether affect the patient by contributing to reduced functional capacity, increased shortness of breath, reduced health-related quality of life and increased mortality.
