21. Adoption of the Innovation System Concept in Sweden
Abstract : In 2001 Sweden founded the government agency of VINNOVA, named after the OECD-endorsed innovation system concept. Criticising the common assumption that countries are passive and uncritical recipients of the approaches promoted by the OECD, this dissertation tries to show that Swedish actors were in fact very active and strategic as they contributed to the national adoption of the concept. 22. Quantum Chemical Calculations on ESR, Core Excitations, and Isotope Effects in Molecular Systems
Abstract : In this thesis, quantum chemical calculations are undertaken mostly in order to interpret experimental results, but also to learn about computational techniques, their performance and their limitations. In paper I, the ionization-cleavage process of alkenes is investigated and two pathways are followed, one of initial cleavage and subsequent ionization and on the opposite, the other one of initial ionization and subsequent cleavage. 23. Chemical and bioanalytical characterisation of PAH-contaminated soils : identification, availability and mixture toxicity of AhR agonists
Abstract : Contaminated soils are a worldwide problem. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are common contaminants in soil at former industrial areas, especially at old gasworks sites, gas stations and former wood impregnation facilities. READ MORE

24. Polarization characteristics in polyelectrolyte thin film capacitors : Targeting field-effect transistors and sensors
Abstract : Polymers are very attractive materials that can be tailored for specific needs and functionality. They can for instance be made electrically insulating or (semi)conducting, with specific mechanical properties. Polymers are often processable from a solution, which enables the use of low-cost manufacturing techniques to fabricate polymer devices. READ MORE

25. Control of Hybrid Hydromechanical Transmissions
Abstract : This thesis deals with control aspects of complex hybrid hydromechanical transmissions for heavy mobile working machines. Control problems are identified and solved to facilitate the implementation and use of these systems. READ MORE
