1. From data collection to electric grid performance : How can data analytics support asset management decisions for an efficient transition toward smart grids?
Abstract : Physical asset management in the electric power sector encompasses the scheduling of the maintenance and replacement of grid components, as well as decisions about investments in new components. Data plays a crucial role in these decisions. READ MORE

2. Load and Risk Based Maintenance Management of Wind Turbines
Abstract : The cost of maintenance is a considerable part of the total life cycle cost in wind turbines, especially for offshore applications. Research has shown that some critical components account for most of the downtime in the wind turbines. READ MORE

3. Extreme environments - Design and human factors considerations
Abstract : The starting point of this research is based on my experience at SICSA performing research and design for extreme environments, including orbital and lunar planetary facilities, disaster shelters, polar stations and offshore surface and submersible habitats. This thesis explores what aspects and issues of design and planning processes in extreme environments have to be addressed in a similar way and therefore may be used as a basis for further work toward PhD thesis to develop a methodological planning tool or matrix. 4. Road disasters? Modeling and assessment of Swedish roads within crucial climate conditions
Abstract : An efficient maintenance of roads to ensure high accessibility and durability of the transport capacity requires an understanding of how the hydrological response depends on both the road and the landscape characteristics. New methods and data were used to identify and explain interaction between roads and surrounding environment and their influence on hydrologic responses both in watershed scale and road-section scale.
