    Abstract : The risks of starting, operating and closing mining projects have become higher than ever. In order to stay ahead of the competition, mining companies have to manage various risks: technical, environmental, legal, regulatory, political, cyber, financial and social. Some of these can be mitigated with the help of geometallurgy. READ MORE

  2. 2. Coarse dust particle transport model around Malmberget mining area

    Author : Yi Huang; John McManus; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Soil Mechanics; Geoteknik;

    Abstract : The dust generated from mining activities in the mining area is an important environmental issue for modern mining industries with many environmental problems involved. Number of researcher worked on small dust particle transport, but few work related to the coarser dust particles with 10 to 100 micro meters diameters had been made despite the fact that coarser dust transport have significant influence on the human lives (e. 3. 3. Mineralogical, chemical and textural properties of the Malmberget iron deposit : a process mineralogically characterisation

    Author : Cecilia Lund; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : This thesis combine two different but closely connected disciplines in a mining process to each other, ore geology and process mineralogy by studying mineralogical-textural features of the ore and the ore concentrate in an apatite iron ore deposit in Malmberget, Sweden. Apatite iron ore deposits (Kiruna type) exist in a few places around the world and the two most important deposits are mined by LKAB at Kiruna and Malmberget. READ MORE

  4. 4. Rock Mass behavior and Cap Rock Stability at the Malmberget Mine

    Author : Sraj Banda Umar; Christer Andersson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mining and Rock Engineering; Gruv- och berganläggningsteknik;

    Abstract : Rock Mass behavior and Cap Rock Stability at the Malmberget MineThe LKAB Malmberget mine is mined using sublevel caving. This mining method requires continuous caving of the hangingwall, which also result in ground deformations on the surface. READ MORE

  5. 5. Mineralogical, chemical and textural characterisation of the Malmberget iron ore deposit for a geometallurgical model

    Author : Cecilia Lund; Terje Malvik; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The northern Norrbotten ore province is an intensely mineralised area and has traditionally been a very important mining district. It contains Fe, Cu-Au, Au, and Ag deposits ranging from world-class ore deposits to small and uneconomic ones (Martinsson 2004). The most important are the Kiruna and Malmberget iron ores and the Aitik Cu-Au deposit. READ MORE
