  1. 1. Paleolimnological reconstructions of fish population changes in acidified lakes

    Author : Fredrik Palm; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : Acidification; Chaoborus; C. flavicans; C. obscuripes; Cyprinids; Daphnia; Fish loss; Fish community composition; Ephippia; Fragmentation; Mandibles; Perch; Roach; Sediments; 210-Pb chronology;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the potential of using subfossil Chaoborus spp. and Daphnia spp. remains preserved in lake sediments to reveal past fish community alterations related to progressive acidification. READ MORE

  2. 2. On bone quality and implant stability measurements

    Author : Bertil Friberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; early failures; titanium implants; jaw bone quality; jaw bone volume; cutting torque; implant stability; resonance frequency; one-stage surgery;

    Abstract : In conjuction with placement of oral implants, the jaw bone quality assessment is mainly based on quantitative radiographic measures and the subjective opinion of the performing surgeon. While the primary implant stability is discussed in terms of the pre-set motor torque and the subjective hand-felt perception during final tightening of implants, the secondary stability is defined as the absence of implant mobility. 4. 4. Juvenile idiopathic arthritis - manifestations in the jaws

    Author : Anna-Lena Cedströmer; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is an inflammatory joint disease in children that can involve the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), consequently affect craniofacial growth, jaw function creating discomfort and pain. It is possible that the TMJ is one of the most frequently involved joints in JIA. READ MORE

  5. 5. Diagnostic criteria and dose limiting approaches for image modalities in odontology

    Author : Daniel Benchimol; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Objectives: Technical innovations in radiography enable the development of new approaches to reduce the dose to patients. The aim of this thesis was to explore dose optimization approaches for the most frequently used radiographic modalities in dentistry. READ MORE
