16. EPR Studies of Ruthenium-Manganese Complexes as Biomimetic Models for Photosystem II - Approaching Artificial Photosynthesis
Abstract : In natural photosynthesis, solar energy is converted to chemical energy by photosynthetic reaction centers. In green plants and algae, Photosystem II (PSII) and Photosystem I (PSI) absorb light and utilize the charge separation reactions to convert solar energy to chemical energy. READ MORE

17. Fiber Optic Sensors for Monitoring of Lithium- and Sodium-ion Batteries
Abstract : Rechargeable batteries, particularly lithium-ion batteries, have rapidly evolved since their introduction and now dominate the market, owing primarily to their high energy and power densities. With growing demand for high-performance batteries in portable electronics and electric vehicles, the need for safe, efficient, and reliable batteries is crucial. READ MORE

18. Cationic Interactions with Nucleic Acids With Focus on Anticancer Active Platinum(II) Complexes
Abstract : It is well documented that the antitumour activity of the Pt(II)-complex cisplatin, and similar anticancer active complexes, is a result of metalation of DNA, and thereby inhibition of cell proliferation. Since nucleic acids are polyanions at physiological pH, the rate of adduct formation with positively charged complex, as the hydrolyzed Pt(II) complexes studied in this work, is influenced by the ionic environment surrounding the polymer. 19. Development of metal complexes for water oxidation
Abstract : In the course of developing a water oxidation catalyst, five metal complexes have been synthesised, characterised and studied for catalytic activity. Three of them are dinuclear complexes (Ru, Co and Cu) of 2,6-bis[(2-hydroxybenzyl)-(2-pyridylmethyl)aminomethyl]-4-methylphenol (H3bbpmp). READ MORE

20. Electron Donor Systems in Natural and Artificial Photosynthesis
Abstract : Photosynthesis is the process by which light energy is converted into chemical products, in photoautotrophic bacteria, algae and plants. The principal idea is the production of reducing agents by photo-induced oxidation of a sacrificial electron donor. READ MORE
