  1. 1. Digital Transformation for Crisis Volunteerism : A study in the aftermath of the Swedish Forest Fires Crisis in 2018

    Author : Maria Murphy; Sofie Pilemalm; Tobias Andersson Granberg; Lena-Maria Öberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Digital transformation; Digitalisation; Crisis; Volunteerism; IS design; Practice; Process; Environment; Events stakeholders; ICT; Coordination; Digital transformation; Digitalisering; Kris; Frivillighet; IS design; Praktik; Process; Omgivning; Händelser; Intressenter; IKT; Koordinering;

    Abstract : In the summer of 2018, Sweden was taken by surprise and engulfed by forest fires on an unprecedented scale. Various forms of crisis volunteerism (CV) proved essential in the large scale response that ensued. READ MORE

  2. 2. Economic aspects of infertility treatment

    Author : Maria Granberg; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Keywords : ART; health economy; financing; willingness to pay; cost; cost effectiveness; infertility treatment; IVF; ICSI; donor insemination; polycystic ovary syndrome PCOS ; tubal surgery;

    Abstract : Background: With the expansion of IVF into general clinical practise during the 1980's and 1990's, the interest to identify and compare costs of different infertility treatments increased and, in many countries there is an ongoing debate about whether or not in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and other assisted reproductive techniques (ART) should be covered by national health insurance schemes. Objective: The aim of the present study was to examine aspects of cost in relation to effectiveness and benefits of infertility treatment, with particular emphasis on in-vitro fertilisation. 3. 3. Role of sediment organic matter quality and benthic organisms for the fate of organic contaminants in marine systems

    Author : Maria E. Granberg; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; sediment; ecotoxicology; macrofauna; bacteria; PAH; PCB;

    Abstract : Marine sediments constitute important contaminant sources within our environment. Organic matter input to marine sediments changes seasonally in terms of both quantity and quality, and has been profoundly altered in many coastal areas due to eutrophication. READ MORE

  4. 4. In situ remediation of contaminated sediments using thin-layer capping : effectiveness in contaminant retention and ecological implications

    Author : Göran Samuelsson; Jonas Gunnarsson; Maria Granberg; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Thin layer capping; sediment remediation; activated carbon; contaminated sediment; benthic community; Systems Ecology; systemekologi;

    Abstract : Hydrophobic organic contaminants (HOCs) often reside in sediment sorbed to particles, most tightly to particles with high content of organic carbon. If persistent, such pollutants can accumulate in the sediment for many years and constitute a contamination risk for sediment-living organisms and organisms at higher trophic levels, including humans.
